Bangkok, Thailand - PrimoCargo GmbH, an international freight forwarding company representing X2 Projects in Germany settled a contract to transport five units of diesel engines with weight totaling to more than 670 tons. The complex multi-modal move was coordinated on behalf of the world’s leading provider of large-bore diesel engines and turbomachinery for marine and stationary applications. The heavy cargo operation commenced on September 17, 2015 with one week estimated time of arrival. In total, five units of diesel engines were transported with the following dimensions; two units measure 1155 x 485 x 660 cm, each weighing 242 tons, the other two units measure 1055 x 485 x 640 cm weighing 217 tons each and the remaining one unit has the dimensions of 1055 x 485 x 700 cm with 217 tons weight. X2 Projects member PrimoCargo arranged the inland-navigation by barge from FOB at the loading port of Heilbronn located in Southern Germany en route for the agreed place of destination at their customer’s shipyard client located at Northern Germany. The shipment was organized for a new project of ship building. Due to extreme low-water level in the Neckar and Rhine Rivers, PrimoCargo team decided to load the five engine units into two barges instead of a single barge as initially planned in order to deliver the cargo on time to its final point of destination. The cargo was successfully transported on September 23, 2015 to the client’s shipyard.
