WASHINGTON - Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture the following activity: - Export sales of 231,000 metric tons of corn for delivery to Mexico. Of the total 168,000 metric tons for delivery during the 2015/2016 marketing year and 63,000 metric tons for delivery during the 2016/2017 marketing year; and - Export sales of 220,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2015/2016 marketing year; and - Export sales of 104,350 metric tons of wheat for delivery to Taiwan during the 2015/2016 marketing year. Of the total, 56,550 tons is hard red spring, 36,550 tons is hard red winter, and 11,250 tons is white wheat; and - Export sales of 116,000 metric tons of grain sorghum for delivery to unknown destinations. Of the total 58,000 metric for delivery during the 2014/2015 marketing year and 58,000 metric tons for delivery during the 2015/2016 marketing year. The marketing year for wheat began June 1 and corn, sorghum, and soybeans began Sept. 1. USDA issues both daily and weekly export sales reports to the public. Exporters are required to report to USDA any export sales activity of 100,000 tons or more of one commodity, made in one day or quantities totaling 200,000 tons or more in any reporting period, except 20,000 tons for soybean oil, made in one day to one destination or quantities totaling 40,000 tons or more in any reporting period, by 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on the next business day following the sale. Export sales of less than these quantities must be reported to USDA on a weekly basis.
