Railinc Corp. has announced that Jerry Traynham was promoted to Chief Information Officer (CIO). Traynham will be responsible for providing the vision and leadership for Railinc's data, product development, and information systems platforms. He will report to Allen West, president and CEO, and will serve on Railinc's executive team. "I’m very pleased that we have the talent inside Railinc to step into this important role. Jerry has managed a large part of our product portfolio for nearly a decade and has been essential to helping us advance our technology, successfully complete projects for the freight rail industry, and achieve high customer satisfaction," West said. "We are fortunate to have his expertise and deep knowledge of our products ascend to the senior technology position." Traynham joined Railinc in 2005 as a project manager. He has led a number of significant technology projects for Railinc, including the technical reengineering of the Umler® system, which is critical to the daily operations of the North American freight rail industry. Prior to joining Railinc, Traynham was director of project management and software development at Blue Shoe Technologies. He also has held technology leadership and management positions with Lucent Technologies, AT&T, and Bell Laboratories.
