With effect from 1st January 2013, Joe Phelan will become responsible for Ground Handling and Cargo in North America (USA and Canada) and Asia (Japan and Korea). He has successfully managed the Ground Handling and Cargo departments in North America since April 2012, after joining Swissport at the start of this year.


With the expansion of his role in January, Joe is being promoted to Executive Vice President, becoming a formal member of Swissport International's Group Executive Management (GEM) board, bringing more than 25 years of international logistics and transport industry experience to the GEM.

Juan Jos' Andr's Alvez will become responsible for Ground Handling Europe and Africa, as well as for Ground Handling and Cargo for Latin America and Brazil, also with effect from 1st January. Currently, Juan Jos's areas of responsibility are Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Brazil. Additionally, Israel remains under his leadership.

John Batten, Executive Vice President of Global Cargo, continues to be responsible for the Cargo division on a global basis.

The Ground Handling Division Central Europe remains under the leadership of Philipp Joeinig.
