Nurminen Logistics, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts CEE network in Finland, carried out one of the most challenging special road transport projects ever to take place in Finland. Nurminen Logistics carried the m/s Silver Sky, the largest boat on inland waters in Finland, built in Turkey, as a special transport from the Mäntyluoto harbour in Pori to Nokia on 2-5 August. The dimensions of the boat were challenging – 30 metres long and 7 metres wide – and it was transported at night. The height of the special transport was 8.3 metres and it weighs 250 tonnes. Special arrangements on the route from Mäntyluoto to Nokia were extensive: transport required, for instance, the cutting off of electricity in 70 places, the taking down of telephone lines and the detachment of electric lines from pylons along the way – all this so that one of the largest and most challenging road transports ever to take place in Finland reached safely its destination.
