Panalpina CEO Monika Ribar was elected to the Board of Directors of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. at the company's annual general meeting today. She succeeds Walter Bosch. The meeting also saw Lufthansa Executive Board member Stefan Lauer appointed Deputy Chairman of the SWISS Board of Directors.



Monika Ribar, CEO of Panalpina World Transport, was elected to the Board of Directors of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. at the company's annual general meeting today. She succeeds Walter Bosch, who has stepped down from the Board for age reasons.



Ribar, who is 52, studied business administration at St. Gallen University, and has also completed the Executive Program of Stanford University in the USA. She has been with global transport corporation Panalpina for over 20 years now, during which she has held numerous executive functions including Chief Information Officer and Chief Financial Officer. She has been the company's CEO since 2006. Ms. Ribar also serves on the boards of directors of Logitech and SIKA.



The SWISS annual general meeting also saw Lufthansa Executive Board member Stefan Lauer (57) appointed Deputy Chairman of the SWISS Board of Directors. A member thereof since 2009, Mr. Lauer is Chief Officer Group Airlines & Corporate Human Resources on the Lufthansa Executive Board, and also serves as the company's Industrial Relations Director.



The SWISS Board of Directors is chaired by Bruno Gehrig, and has Lufthansa CEO Christoph Franz and Jacques Aigrain as its further members.
