Road and Rail Services would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Dennis Manns as their new Chief Commercial Officer(CCO). Manns will be responsible for leading Road and Rail’s growth and continued success in the various segments of the company’s commercial business. Manns will report to Kevin Brandon, President of Road and Rail. “We couldn’t be happier to have Dennis join the Road and Rail family. Dennis’ strategic outlook, vision, planning experience and commitment makes him a perfect fit to lead our commercial activities, “said Brandon. “Along with his strategic strengths, Dennis is well known in the automotive industry for his dedication and achieving outstanding results. Everyone at Road and Rail looks forward to this exciting new chapter,” Brandon said Manns has an extensive background in the automotive industry. Manns’ background includes a thirty-one-year career at American Honda in both sales and operations. Manns’ most recent assignment was at American Honda as the Assistant Vice President of Sales and Logistics Planning. Manns’ responsibilities included the Automotive Sales Planning for both the Honda and Acura Divisions and the Automotive Logistics Planning and Operations for all of American Honda’s plant and port facilities. In his role overseeing the logistics for American Honda, Manns served as the lead executive in the development of the automotive distribution center at Honda’s new Celaya, Mexico plant. This recently opened automotive distribution center is the largest in Mexico and the second largest in North America. In addition, Manns launched the automotive industry’s first multi-mode method of transporting Mexican built product to the United States. During Manns’ tenure in managing American Honda’s Sales and Production Planning, Honda developed and launched Honda’s industry leading distribution system – APEX (Allocation Prefacing Exchange). Manns joined Honda in 1984 and held numerous positions in both Honda’s Sales and Operation Automotive Divisions. Dennis has been responsible for various regional sales management assignments, national marketing, and national training and communications. In 1998, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales. During this time, Manns helped to establish Acura as a key competitor in the luxury automotive segment. Manns served as the lead Acura executive responsible for developing and launching the distinctive look of Acura’s award winning dealer facility and sign image. Dennis earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Dennis has served on the boards for the California Council for Economic Education (CCEE), American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Customer Advisory Board.
