In another example of successful cooperation between Worldwide Project Consortium, WWPC members, Procargo, Ltd./Finland in cooperation with LS International Cargo GmbH/Germany and Steder Group b.v./Netherlands are involved in the transportation of the Russian Space Shuttle Buran from Bahrain to Rotterdam where the shuttle will go in transit for the Rhine-River transport to it's final destination at the Auto-und Technik Museum in Speyer/Germany.

The 65 ton heavy 36 m long and 7.6 meter high and eight meter wide fuselage of the space shuttle, along with its' disconnected wings and tailfin, was loaded onto a barge for transport to the waiting heavy lift ocean vessel, which loaded the complete shipment and left the port of Manama with direction Rotterdam.

The shuttle is the only original Buran available to the public in the western hemisphere.

Wolfgang Karau from Procargo, Ltd. arranged the transportation and the practical arrangements in Bahrain. 'This is an exciting example of the special projects the WWPC members are able to carry out', says Wolfgang Karau, who is also the Operational Director of WWPC. For him this is already second time to move this shuttle. The first transportation of Buran happened in 1998 from its' home base Russia to Australia.

Buran is planned to be available for the public in Auto- und Technik Museum in Germany during summer 2008.
