Russia is expected to ship 2.5 million tonnes of ESPO crude oil blend from the Pacific port of Kozmino in September, a monthly record high, industry sources said on Thursday. This would be up from 2.2 million tonnes scheduled for August and 300,000 tonnes higher than was originally expected in September, traders told Reuters. They said the exports rose partly due to a fire at Rosneft’s Achinsk refinery in June. Achinsk’s capacity stands at around 140,000 barrels of oil per day (7 million tonnes a year), and its stoppage had prompted Rosneft to search for markets to sell the crude that would have otherwise gone to the plant.
