RWI Transportation, an asset-based logistics company that provides regional and national truckload, LTL, expedited, and refrigerated warehousing services, was named top carrier of the 2010 Ryder Carrier Quality Award in the Truckload Specialized category. This award recognizes RWI's performance excellence through a variety of metrics, including on-time performance, claims handling, customer service, technology applications, economic value and innovation.

RWI provides specialized truckload services to Ryder, with a particular emphasis in servicing its customers in the food and beverage industries. "This award underscores RWI's operational strengths in truckload services, and our high-quality expertise in managing food and beverage products through the supply chain," said Richard Bauer, executive vice president and general manager of RWI Transportation. "We are proud to be recognized by a well-respected industry leader such as Ryder, and we value our relationship with this important customer." RWI competed against more than 300 other carriers that qualified for the award in that category.

According to Tim Podvin, general manager, global procurement for Ryder Transportation Management, "2010 was a challenging year in transportation due to increased freight volumes and reduced industry capacity. In spite of these complexities, 14 of our carriers excelled in their respective modal category, and we are proud to honor them with our Ryder Carrier Quality Award. We congratulate RWI Transportation and our other top carriers who were able to perform above expectations and deliver outstanding customer service in spite of the inherent transportation challenges in 2010."
