Container leasing leader SeaCube Container Leasing Ltd. (”SeaCube”) has named Robert Sappio, a former longtime executive at APL, as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective August 25, 2014. Sappio will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of evolving business strategies to achieve profitable growth, and analysis on pricing, procurement and other operational initiatives.  He will report to Joseph Kwok, who is CEO of SeaCube. Sappio has most recently been President and CEO of Rikmers America in Houston, and Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal, LLC in San Francisco. He previously spent 29 years with APL, where he held a series of key positions, including senior trade and marketing executive responsible for all of APL’s commercial activities in the Trans-Pacific, Trans-Atlantic and Latin America trades. These positions have provided Sappio with extensive experience in all aspects of containerized ocean and intermodal transport. “Bob has proven success in ensuring profitable growth and customer satisfaction; he is a respected leader who will focus on the diversification and profitability of the company, while maintaining the culture and entrepreneurial spirit that has driven SeaCube’s historical success.
