The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 2012 Washington state Exporter of the Year is Liz Lasater, CEO of Red Arrow Logistics. Red Arrow is an Issaquah-based company that provides logistics and transportation services to Fortune 100 companies with fast growing, complex and high-value supply chains in the technology, military, food & beverage, consumer products and renewable energy sectors, working in both the international and domestic arenas.

With over 3500 regional and national carriers in the U.S. and agents in over 185 countries worldwide, Red Arrow offers scale and the scope of services to meet the budget and schedule requirements of the largest and smallest companies alike, within the domestic United States or worldwide.

'Red Arrow Logistics international business has grown dramatically over the past few years,' said SBA Seattle District Director Nancy Porzio. 'With a mix of ocean and air freight, their international business grew 1500% from 2010 to 2011 and they are on target to grow another 1,666% year-over-year in 2012.'

Red Arrow solves export-related problems by offering door-to-door service in addition to the standard port to port and airport to airport service. They can pick up at the suppliers door and deliver directly to door even in places like Liberia, Ghana and China.

Earlier this year, Red Arrow was selected as one of 12 U.S. companies to participate in a U.S. Department of Commerce trade mission to Kabul, Afghanistan. Lasater was invited to seek new collaborations and bring the expertise and relationships to provide services in this underdeveloped region of the world.

'Working with the State Commerce Department to put together an export seminar for the Washington State wine industry, Liz Lasater encourages other small businesses to export,' said Assistant Associate Administrator Calvin Goings. 'She also produces trade education guides to help companies new in the international market.'

'We proudly recognize Liz Lasater as the SBA's 2012 Small Business Exporter of the Year,' said SBA Seattle District Director Nancy Porzio.
