Jacksonville-based Sea Star Line, LLC has announced that El Faro, the most recent addition to their fleet, will make a commercial charter to the Middle East during the summer months, and will return to the Puerto Rico service in the fall.

"We are thrilled with El Faro's performance,' said Phil Bates, Senior Vice President of Operations, 'she has exceeded all of our expectations.' El Faro was introduced into the Caribbean service in March of this year to provide additional capacity during the busy spring months; served as back-up for El Yunque, her sister ship, during her month-long dry dock; and will now generate charter revenue during the Caribbean's slower summer months before returning to the Puerto Rico service in the fall to satisfy the Caribbean's high seasonal demand.

Bates continued, 'El Faro's configuration and capabilities make it ideal for a variety of situations ' and this is just the type of flexibility we were looking for. This ship allows us to meet the immediate needs of our market, position ourselves for the market's growth, and use the charter market to help manage utilization. El Faro is an exceptional ship, and has already proven her effectiveness as we manage service levels along with growth.'
