Weather  On the forecast track, the center of Harvey is forecasted to move off the middle Texas coast on Monday and meander just offshore through Monday night. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecasted during the next 24 hours. Some slight restrengthening is possible after the center moves off the coast on Monday night and Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) primarily over water to the east of the center. They will continue to monitor the developing weather conditions to determine whether operations can safely resume on Tuesday. Further updates will be provided as more information is available. You can view the latest information regarding Port Houston container terminals and general cargo facilities on this page Additionally, CSX is reporting the Louisville ramp is operating with one lift machine in service this morning.  Repair vendors are on-site working to restore two machines to service as quickly as possible.  We can expect longer than normal dwell times until the two other machines are brought back online.  Vessel Operations: Please see below for confirmed operational statuses of impacted vessels:
  • ANGOL 1710: Original ETA was 8/21 @ 6am, currently shows waiting outside Houston     
  • BARRY 1706: Original ETA was 8/28 @ 6am, scheduled to depart from USNOL 8/29 @ 09am.
  • MSC SAO PAULO 735W: Original ETA was 8/27 @ 7pm, swapped ports with USMOB due to Hurricane Harvey

Rail Service  BNSF  Heavy rain and unprecedented flooding are causing significant service disruptions in the Houston area and throughout southeastern Texas. Nearly 30 inches of rain has already fallen in some locations. Major interstates are closed and local officials are encouraging residents to stay in place. While BNSF's Houston (Pearland) Intermodal and Automotive are both open, road conditions are preventing access to the facilitiesand only emergency-related travel is advised.
