Crowley Maritime Corporation's Puerto Rico/Caribbean Liner services group was recognized by Sears as a Partner in Progress for the 6th consecutive year during a formal awards ceremony at the Normandy Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The award recognizes Crowley for its first-class domestic ocean transportation services provided from the US mainland to Puerto Rico for Sears. Crowley also handles transportation services for Sears in Central America and other Caribbean markets.

The prestigious Partner in Progress awards are presented annually to a select group of companies that have provided transportation and logistics support to Sears Holding Corporation stores. More than 10,000 vendors compete for the annual award.

Kevin R. Carr, Sears president of Puerto Rico, presented the award to Roberto Lugo, Crowley's vice president of Puerto Rico services, Carlos Rivera, liner services area sales manager, and Raymond Rundle, liner services sales manager.

"At Crowley, we strive to provide consistent, high-quality services and maintain positive customer partnerships built on trust, integrity and reliability," Lugo said. "Receiving this award for the 6th consecutive year says volumes about the dedication Crowley employees put forth each day to address each customer's unique needs. I am very pleased to accept this award on behalf of the entire Crowley team."

The Partners in Progress program was founded more than 20 years ago to recognize suppliers that make significant contributions and develop innovation solutions to the growth of Sears' businesses and the creation of new ways to better serve Sears customers. Award winners are selected from nominations submitted by Sears' employees who purchase goods and services for the company.

Sears Holdings Corporation, parent of Kmart and Sears, Roebuck and Co., is the nation's fourth largest broadline retailer with over $50 billion in annual revenues and approximately 3,800 full-line and specialty retail stores in the United States and Canada.
