Seán Birkhead has been appointed Chief Technology Officer at SEKO Logistics as the company continues to leverage customer growth opportunities provided by its expanding suite of software solutions. He joined SEKO a year ago and prior to this latest promotion held the post of Implementation & Integration Manager based in Ireland. Earlier in his career, Seán worked for Kuehne + Nagel, Flextronics and also spent two years as a Solutions Manager with Syncreon Technology. In his new role based in Chicago, he is responsible for ensuring IT implementation, consistency, performance and security of SEKO’s IT systems and software infrastructure. Seán’s appointment allows Tom Madzy, SEKO’s Chief Information Officer, to place his core focus on the company’s fast-growing software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, which span purchase order management and order fulfillment, warehouse and transportation management systems (WMS and TMS). SEKO’s customizable software can integrate with a client’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or existing WMS software to obtain order and inventory data and visibility from vendor down to final delivery to the customer as well as reverse logistics. William J. Wascher, CEO of SEKO Logistics, said: “Seán and Tom have significant roles to play in the growth of our business. We now have clients who are strictly software customers and this reflects the evolution of our business and the tremendous value of our technology. We can compete head-to-head with software-only providers because of the systems we have designed and implemented in response to what customers want. There is now a fit for SEKO in every organization because we can streamline even a large customers’ supply chain using our customizable technology. We can give them a strategic benefit by being able to plug-in and provide value in a way that is giving us a strong competitive advantage.”
