With the 15th Asian Games barely a month away, Singapore's national sailing body SingaporeSailing has entrusted GAC Logistics with their most prized possessions - race boats, motor boats, equipment like sails and masts, and bicycles for training.

With GAC providing the vital logistics support to and from the Games venue in Doha, Qatar, the SingaporeSailing team can concentrate on what they do best ' racing, says Mark Robinson, Head of High Performance, SingaporeSailing.

'It is of paramount importance that our boats and equipment arrive on-time and in tip-top condition. The whole logistics exercise was also conducted under tight deadlines to ensure that our athletes would not lose precious training opportunities in Singapore or Doha,' adds Mr Robinson.

Moving this type of delicate cargo requires special expertise and precision in loading, packing and securing. The stringent import and customs rules and regulations prevailing in Qatar also add to the challenge, says Ivo Verheyen, Managing Director, GAC Singapore.

'GAC's ground staff in Qatar will do everything it takes to ensure a speedy customs clearance when the cargo arrives in three weeks' time,' he adds.
