JOHANNESBURG - South Africa’s Transnet has agreed a three-year wage increase agreement with labour unions representing its non-managerial staff, the logistics firm said on Wednesday. State-owned Transnet said in a statement it would increase the worker’s pay by 7 percent from this year up until 2018. The company said a separate agreement had been reached for its managers and their pay hikes would be backdated to April 1. Transnet said the parties agreed there would be no forced retrenchment during the agreement period for operational reasons and to ensure job security.
