Founded in 1950 with 14 trucks, 20 employees and a $5,000 loan, Southeastern Freight Lines is celebrating its 60th anniversary as it has grown into one of the industry's most successful trucking companies.

The cornerstone of the regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services provider's success is the culture of its people ' a belief that began with founder W.T. 'Toby' Cassels. The Cassels family has continued to lead the organization, today led by W.T. 'Bill' Cassels, Jr. and his son, W.T. 'Tobin' Cassels III.

Southeastern attributes its longevity to its culture and commitment to Quality Improvement. The company frequently sets new records related to customer efficiency and satisfaction and has received more than 300 quality awards from customers and associations.

'Our company's mindset has always been to serve, and we feel blessed to have that same focus today, after 60 years of business,' said Tobin Cassels, president of Southeastern Freight Lines. 'We're grateful to our associates, customers and partners whose efforts and dedication helped us reach this point. Our shared passion and commitment for our customers will continue to inspire us to work together to reach another 60 years!'
