Members of the Dockworkers Union are set to strike from Thursday, 6th July to Tuesday, 11th July at both the Gothenburg Ro-Ro (roll-on roll-off) and the port of Helsingborg. In addition to this, Sweden's port of Halland will also put a freeze on any new hires, overtime and any new contract workers.
The industrial action aims to improve the financial security of the Dockworkers, with the union demanding that a social fund is established in order to aid any employers that decide to support employees that need rehabilitation and are often overlooked following a sustained period of illness or injury.
