Cincinnati, OH – Total Quality Logistics has an extensive history of supporting military causes and hiring veterans. The Cincinnati-based freight brokerage firm – with more than 50 offices in 22 states – deemed July TQL Military Month. Among the highlights for the inaugural celebration will be: Building lights – TQL headquarters will be lit in a red, white and blue fireworks pattern for the month starting July 1. Visible from I-275 on the east side of Cincinnati, thousands of cars and trucks will see TQL’s support for active-duty military, Guard and veterans. Tribute wall – Both a real wall in the cafeteria at headquarters and a virtual wall on the TQL website will allow employees and the general public to post messages for the service members in their lives, or honor those military men and women now on eternal watch. Sit-ups for Soldiers – From July 5 to 20, TQL teams do battle in a tournament bracket to see who can do the most sit-ups in 60 seconds. Each office around the country will use the tournament as a fundraiser for military charities. Prizes will go to the best sit-up squad as well as the top fundraising team. Kids Club contest – The TQL Kids Club – for children of employees age 2 to 10 – will compete to create the art for a Christmas card to be sent to troops during the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign later this year. Honor Flights – Two TQL active service members and/or veterans will be eligible for a drawing to accompany a WWII veteran to Washington D.C. on anHonor Flight in October. Guinness World Record attempt – In 2015, TQL and the Greater Cincinnati community set the record for most people doing pushups simultaneously in one location. This year – on July 21 - we’re going for the sit-up record. As part of the festivities, look to the skies for an appearance by the Fastrax Professional Skydiving Team. Proceeds from the fundraising elements of TQL Military Month will benefit The Boot Campaign, Disabled American Veterans, The USO and the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation.  “We hire vets and members of the National Guard because they possess the skills and values we are looking for – an outstanding work ethic, the ability to learn new skills quickly, and the tenacity for creating success in any situation,” said TQL President Kerry Byrne. “We’re pleased so many vets join our team after their service to our country and we’re proud to celebrate them and all they do for us.”
