Cincinnati, OH -Total Quality Logistics’ eighth annual Loads for a Cure campaign set another record in 2017. The nation’s 2nd largest freight brokerage firm moved a record 30,313 loads Oct. 16th – 22nd with a portion of the proceeds from each load being donated to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. TQL Vice President Gary Carr presented the American Cancer Society with a check for $30,313 during a morning celebration today at TQL’s corporate headquarters in Cincinnati. “As a company, we have been affected by this and other terrible diseases more times than we would like to count, myself included,” said Gary Carr, Vice President of Sales.  “It is the memory of our loved ones who brought so much joy to our lives that motivates us to raise funds for causes that help find a cure,” he added. A cancer survivor himself, Carr lost his sister, former TQL employee Vicki Bausch, to breast cancer in February of 2015. “We are so thankful for the support of TQL because when you guys decide to do something, you are all in,” said Alice Sowers, Director of Regional Corporate Relations for the American Cancer Society. “You are helping people get support during their cancer journey, including a 24/7/365 help line, transportation, lodging, even wigs and I hope you feel how impactful that is.” Since 2010, TQL and its employees have donated a total of $237,662 to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer initiatives. Loads for a Cure is one of several fundraising initiatives taking place during “Pinktober” at TQL. The company also lights corporate headquarters in pink every night to remind thousands of passers-by on I-275 of the fight to end cancer.
