Troops Into Transportation, an exclusive program of The CDL School and its partner carriers, announces a partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes Program and their trucking industry technology partner FASTPORT, to train and place transitioning veterans and spouses into great commercial driving careers. "We are proud to be partnered with Hiring Our Heroes and FASTPORT to help provide the critical training new drivers need to be very successful in a professional driving role," says Al Hanley, President and CEO of The CDL School.  "With Troops Into Transportation, we are a Job-First Program, helping service members get pre-hired with our partner trucking companies before their first day of training.  Our on-base training at Fort Benning allows us to meet the high demand for driving jobs by soldiers there, and we are actively working to expand our military-centric model to many other garrisons." The CDL School is a market leader and innovator in commercial driving training with locations in Florida, Georgia, and New York. Headquartered in Miami, FL and co-founded by a veteran, they have created a military-centric Troops Into Transportation program, successfully training over 400 veterans to date. The CDL School has also recently launched an online program to accommodate the needs of deployed personnel. "Credentialing is one of the most difficult challenges facing our transitioning military to achieve great employment opportunities," says Eric Eversole, Chamber Vice President and Executive Director of Hiring Our Heroes.  "Troops Into Transportation is a leader in CDL training and we are delighted with their commitment to train and place 2,500 veterans into great commercial driving careers."   "Troops Into Transportation has one of the best programs to mentor, train and employ our veterans, and they are committed to investing in more capacity to train more veterans," says Bill McLennan, CEO of FASTPORT. "Their Job-First Program really helps ease the transition and worries of veterans and families entering the next stage of their careers."
