Turkish Airlines decided to assign Fraport Cargo Services (FCS) with the provision of cargo handling services at Frankfurt again.

Turkish Airlines has been a customer of Fraport Cargo Services since about 40 years, with a gap of just six months due to Turkish Airlines' decision to temporarily change to another handling agent in October 2008.

'Turkish Airlines decided to leave us last year much to our regret. Nevertheless we provided a good performance until the very last day so that our partnership relation was not affected. After some months we were able to restart negotiations under different conditions, and could offer a new service package which paved the way for Turkish Airlines' returning.' says Winfried Hartmann, Managing Director of Fraport Cargo Services.

Turkish Airlines operates 26 passenger flights a week from Frankfurt to Istanbul in the summer schedule 2009. Additionally the airline flies up to seven weekly passenger flights to Ankara and additional flights to Izmir, Istanbul, Adana and Kayseri as from July.

The A310-freighter aircrafts of Turkish Airlines operate four times a week from Frankfurt to Istanbul and back.
