Service on two London Underground transit lines was partially suspended Saturday near the Grenfell Tower apartments where at least 30 people died and more than 28 people are missing and presumed dead after fire engulfed the building. Hammersmith & City Line trains won’t run from Edgware Road to Hammersmith, mostly on the west side of the city, and service on the track-sharing Circle Line also was suspended, according to the Transport for London website. A spokesman for the transit agency said London Fire Brigade requested that service be halted, which according to Twitter post was over “concerns about the stability of the building.” The agency fears debris could fall on the tracks, BBC reported on its website. The press office at London Fire Brigade wasn’t immediately available to comment.
