EDISON, N.J. - The Board of Directors of U.S. Shipping Corp today announced the appointment of Albert Bergeron, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, to Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Bergeron will replace Michael Ryan, who has resigned to accept a position with another company. U.S. Shipping has identified several candidates to fill the chief financial officer position and expects to hire one of these candidates in the near future. In the interim, Mr. Bergeron will continue to act as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bergeron will also hold a seat on the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bergeron has been the Chief Financial Officer of the Company and its predecessors since their formation in September 2002. Mr. Bergeron has over 20 years of management experience in the waterborne transportation industry, and is a certified public accountant. Mr. Bergeron commented, “I am excited about leading the great team at U.S. Shipping Corp, in particular Jeffrey Miller, our SVP of Chartering, and Sam Cermack, our Chief Operating Officer.
