The Universal Freight Organization (UFO) was established in January 2000 so that privately owned freight forwarding companies could form partnerships on an international scale, whilst working in accordance with a strict Code of Conduct.

The ISO 9001:2000 Certified organization has become the largest exclusive freight network. With the recent recruitment of TWS in Tunisia, UFO now has representative offices in 100 countries!

UFO has also become one of the world's leading original independent freight networks due to the numerous initiatives introduced over the years, including the UFO Traders Directory, a free platform for manufacturers, importers and exporters to advertise their company products. The growing database currently contains over 1000 companies and is helping to speed up the process of linking global business partners. The Directory's International Business Development Team strives to provide traders from developing countries with worldwide exposure, enabling them to achieve a competitive advantage in global markets.

Chairwoman and CEO, Rachel Humphrey recognizes that excellent communication within the network is of utmost importance and recently launched a new program called myUFO.org. The online system unites their 320+ worldwide offices in real-time to ensure seamless operations and communication. The web-based system manages the process of communication when requesting rates from each other.

UFO is currently affiliated with many of the industry's top trade exhibitions and conventions including IATA, TranSec India Expo, IFW, and many more. The UFO Head Office's dynamic approach to managing the network encourages members to get involved and make the most of their membership ' ultimately increasing inter-trade.

"When I founded UFO over eight years ago, I could not have predicted our global family would grow to such an extent! We are proud to have maintained our '1 Member Per Country' policy, with the obvious exception of USA and China. However, I do not intend for our coverage to stop at 100 countries. I am confident in the continued growth of UFO, as there are still many countries where we need to find suitable representation.'

When asked their reasons for joining, TWS Manager, Mr. Omar Meddeb stated, "As a result of the more and more globalized World, being a member of a worldwide organization should be a must and no more a choice. By joining UFO, TWS is getting possession of a wide range of business opportunities, a worldwide network, and a reliable and trustful rating, adding to that the high level of the working standards. Business activities and foreign commercial exchanges in Tunisia are now more focused not only on what we call locally 'traditional markets' (France, Italy, Germany) but extending to other geographically far countries. Thus by joining UFO, TWS will keep responding positively to all the logistical and transportation needs of its customers."

As well as becoming major players in the logistics industry (UFO members handle over 95,000 shipments per month), Rachel adds that the friendships that have grown within UFO have been a wonderful side effect of linking companies together. The added benefit is that these friendships also establish a great deal of trust and loyalty amongst members. 'Our Members all agree that it is much better to deal with the tough fights for contracts surrounded by friends than trying to do it alone.'
