VAN BUREN, Arkansas - USA Truck, Inc. (Nasdaq: USAK), a leading capacity solutions provider headquartered in Van Buren, Arkansas, is enhancing pay and improving workplace quality for its drivers. Enhancements include higher rates for unexpected down time, short haul and improved performance bonus potential for all drivers. “We are improving the pay scale for detention and short haul, as a way of protecting our drivers from loss of income during unexpected downtime,” said Martin Tewari, President of Trucking Operations. “Also, our over-the-road drivers will see higher potential performance bonuses, up to 5 cents per mile each month and our driver team members will now enjoy free access to XM Satellite Radio in all units, paid for by USA Truck.” Beginning January 1, 2017, performance bonuses that are currently paid quarterly will be paid monthly. The bonuses will apply to over-the-road drivers, including solo and driver teams, as well as owner operators. To be eligible, drivers must complete all miles with no preventable collisions. Tewari said the carrier evaluates its pay program each quarter to ensure its drivers’ needs are being met relative to overall market conditions for trucking. “Our goal is to provide USA Truck drivers with the best overall experience and the best compensation package available.”
