UTi Worldwide Inc., a global supply chain services and solutions company, recently appointed Mike McClelland senior vice president of Contract Logistics and Distribution responsible for its Americas operations. This new role for McClelland expands on his previous responsibility for UTi's distribution business in North America. "Mike has successfully led our North American distribution business through a transition from four separate subsidiaries into one cohesive, successful business unit," said Ed Feitzinger, executive vice president Global Operations, "We look forward to Mike turning his focus to growing our contract logistics business while continuing to advance our distribution products. The combination of contract logistics with distribution provides seamless integrated solutions for our clients in the Americas."  UTi operates nearly 16 million square feet of space for clients in the Americas through a combination of multi-client and dedicated warehouses, according to McClelland. "We have the expertise and the technology to successfully service clients on a short-term, seasonal need through our existing warehouses or develop and manage dedicated facilities for clients," said McClelland. "We currently operate contract logistics facilities for consumer-retail, pharmaceutical, high tech, automotive, aerospace and fashion, so we have the experience and knowledge to 'hit the ground running' for other clients in these industries," he added, "We are now well positioned to provide a full complement of logistics services for our clients."
