Virgin Atlantic Cargo has appointed Colin Nicholls as its new Regional Sales Manager for Australia & New Zealand. Colin is responsible for all commercial operations in Australia and New Zealand, looking after both Virgin Atlantic Cargo and V Australia.

Colin started his career in the air cargo industry in 1983 as an Operations Clerk with Union Air Transport at London Heathrow airport. Colin's extensive experience over the years has seen him in roles such as the General Manager Sales and Marketing for Gatwick-based Airline Management Holdings, the global general sales and service agent for GB Airways and British Mediterranean, and UK & Ireland GSSA for Avient Airlines, Estonian Airlines and Air Madagascar. In this role, he was responsible for overseas route development and the selection and overall control of overseas sales offices.

Colin Nicholls reports to Hong Kong-based James Williams, Virgin Atlantic Cargo's Vice President Asia-Pacific, who commented: 'With Colin's vast knowledge, experience and proven track record, I feel certain that we will be able to boost volumes both on Virgin's London service and V Australia's recently introduced trans-Pacific operations.'

'The launch of services linking Los Angeles with Sydney and Brisbane means that the Virgin network now spans the world. I am sure that Colin and the team in Sydney will relish the task of making this a highly successful operation by offering the Australian freight market an award winning service for which Virgin Atlantic Cargo is justifiably known," he added.
