Virgin Atlantic Cargo (VAC) has taken over the management of its express product (VEX) in New York and New Jersey, following a successful four-month transition period when it was managed by Airmax International.

Jack Fiol, Senior Vice President Cargo North America for Virgin Atlantic Cargo, stated that Airmax had done an excellent job in handling the VEX product during this period and that all personnel, systems and services are now in place for it to become an integral part of VAC's US product portfolio.

'The decision to bring our VEX product in-house means we can now extend this service directly to customers offering fast, reliable and personalized service for which Virgin Atlantic Cargo are already renown. Jack stated. 'This is a great opportunity as it enables us to offer our customers a full range of services, including our general tariff, security handling for valuable and vulnerable shipments, as well as our industry-leading Must Ride guaranteed service for urgent and perishable shipments,' he added.

VAC's express product in the USA had previously been operated for over 10 years by Air Cargo Partners. Airmax International was appointed in October 2006 to manage its transition into an in-house product.
