LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Wabash National Corporation’s operation in Cadiz, Kentucky, has received the Kentucky Governor’s Safety and Health Award for achieving more than 502,000 hours of work without a lost-time injury or illness in 2016. The company’s Cadiz facility manufactures Transcraft® and Benson® brand platform trailers. “We are extremely proud of the commitment demonstrated by our associates in achieving this safety recognition,” said Dustin Smith, senior vice president and general manager, Commercial Trailer Products. “Our number one value and priority is the safety of our associates. It takes everyone in the organization being diligent every day to achieve zero lost-time incidents. I congratulate the entire Cadiz team on this recognition.” The Governor’s Safety and Health Award was developed by the Kentucky Department of Labor in an effort to promote and recognize safety and health awareness, along with sound work practices and the resulting reduction in injuries and illnesses in the workplace. The requirements of the award provide special recognition for outstanding safety and health performance and encourage development of programs designed to reduce and even eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses in Kentucky workplaces. The award was presented to Wabash National’s Cadiz team on May 11 at the 33rd Annual Governor’s Safety and Health Conference and Exposition in Covington, Kentucky. Forty-eight companies ranging in size from 1 to 500+ employees received safety awards.
