WCL, a leading consultancy for the international transport and logistics industry, plans to expand its international business. For this reason Hans J Willam, who founded the company in 1999, has taken on board four additional shareholders who jointly founded a limited liability company (Gesellschaft mit be- schränkter Haftung/GmbH). From now on five heavyweights from the transport industry will steer the company into the future. Hans J Willam (61), owner of WCL WilConLog e.K., remains the largest shareholder and becomes the Chairman of the Advisory Board. The other shareholders are Günter Kuhberg, Bremen; Frieder Stein- warder, Hamburg; sieg & friends GmbH, Hamburg, and Helge Straubinger, Hamburg. Frieder Steinwarder and Martin Sieg jointly act as Managing Direc- tors of the GmbH. With the foundation of the new company WCL takes the next step towards ex- panding its international focus. The GmbH takes care of the entire service portfolio, with the exception of the NVOCC projects, which exclusively stay with the WCL WilConLog e.K. Hans J Willam explains: “With this move, the WCL family is well equipped for the future. It has been of utmost importance for us to familiarise both our cli- ents and business partners to the fact that from now on five shareholders are at the helm of WCL. I have been advising our business partners for many ye- ars on how to prepare for the future set up of their companies before reaching the age of retirement. It is only logical that I do the same for the future of my own company. I am sure that the successful course of WCL, which I formed in 1999, will be continued”.
