Airline increases traffic by 12.8%, flies a record 2.0 million guests for the month of April CALGARY - WestJet today announced April 2017 traffic results with a load factor of 84.8 per cent, an increase of 4.2 percentage points year over year. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 12.8 per cent year-over-year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 7.3 per cent over the same period. The airline flew a record 2.0 million guests in April, a year-over-year increase of 13.5 per cent or approximately 235,000 additional guests. “We are very pleased with our continued strong traffic growth as a record number of guests chose to fly with us in April,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky. “My sincere thanks go out to our more than 12,000 WestJetters for their ongoing commitment to delivering our award winning brand of caring friendly service.” April 2017 traffic results
