After an in-depth tender process based on the criteria of high quality customer service and extensive experience (also with the transport of freight to the US), Brussels Airlines has chosen to use the services of WFS for its entire cargo handling activities. This decision was preceded by intense analysis, reflecting the great care with which WFS and Brussels Airlines approached the future direction of global cargo handling challenges. Brussels Airlines is positioned at the top of the European airlines transporting an average of 28,000 tons per year between Europe-Africa-Europe (and since June 2012 also to/from the US). Next to the transport of non-food products, such as pharmaceuticals and IT equipment, Brussels Airlines is also internationally recognized for its huge experience in terms of transport of perishables, especially between Africa and Europe. Herman Hoornaert, Head of Cargo at Brussels Airlines, expressed his satisfaction with the new partnership: "The good working experience with WFS at other locations and the professionalism of the team as well as their large experience made us choose for WFS for our cargo handling here at Brussels Airport." Equally positive about this new undertaking is Marc Claesen, Regional Vice President WFS Belgium/Netherlands/Germany/Scandinavia: "I am pleased that we have succeeded in convincing Brussels Airlines that we deliver outstanding and cost-favourable services. We extend a friendly welcome to our new customer and are certain that together we can accomplish the ambitious growth plans both companies have in mind for Brussels Airport."
