AMI, the world's largest trade-only airfreight- and express wholesaler, has promoted Darren Zieba to the newly-created post of Global IT Project Manager, as part of its continuing focus on new technology solutions for its customers.
In his new role, Zieba will be based at AMI's Chicago Office, and will assume responsibility for several major system projects, such as MyAMI and the global roll-out of AMI's online product Click2Ship. He will also head up AMI's central IT Development Team, based at its London (Gatwick) HQ.
Zieba has worked in aviation and air cargo IT for over 15 years; he began with Ogden Cargo in London in 1997, later moving to the ground handling business of Menzies Aviation when it acquired Ogden in 2000.
He has since taken on several roles with the Menzies Aviation IT team, starting in global support. Since 2006, Zieba has managed a wide range of IT projects for the ground handling business across Europe, India and the USA.
