In line with it's previously announced 2011 expansion program, the chief executive of Airline Network Services reported the creation and activation of the company's charter division.

Dedicated to international air cargo charter lift out of North America, the new unit is headed by veteran Ana Gerber, based in the Toronto area. The general cargo sales agency is closely linked to ANS headquarters at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, and to all its regional branches throughout the United States.

CEO Jens Tubbesing stated introduction of the ANS Charter Division broadens service opportunities for the U.S. and Canadian freight forwarding communities. It is geared to handle full- and part-load charters of an extensive range of commodities to worldwide destinations. Modern jet aircraft up to B747F capacity are employed.' When required for the movement of special payloads-- for example, regulated temperature for perishable products--the most advanced technological methods and dedicated equipment are utilized.

Ms Gerber, an air cargo professional with deep international experience, noted that the ANS Charter Division is presented as particularly advantageous to the needs of forwarders servicing major exporters in the drug/chemical, horticultural, apparel, scientific equipment and outsize machinery fields. Special attention is devoted to the quality of customer service in the charter function as in normal daily handling operations.

Earlier'this year, Mr. Tubbesing, a former president of Cargo Network Services,'informed the air shipping industry that despite the heavy economic winds of 2010,'favorable results prompted him to forecast a doubling of growth and expansion in 2011. The new charter unit is regarded as a vital step in that direction.
