The Doha-based airline says membership of Cargo 2000 will allow Qatar Airways Cargo to monitor its quality and delivery standards on the basis of the most highly regarded industry standard.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: 'Our goal is to increase efficiency and quality of service provided to the airline's customers with proven and agreed processes, and Cargo 2000's quality management system offers a proven solution for implementation and measurement.' Qatar Airways Cargo presently delivers to 87 destinations worldwide using its own Airbus A300-600 freighters and 68 Qatar Airways passenger aircraft. This will increase to 120 destinations and 110 aircraft in the next four years.
'We are aware of the strong feedback Qatar Airways gained from a global customer survey carried out late last year but it is the sign of a quality-focused company that they are continually looking to improve their business for their customers and, as part of this process, benefit from cost efficiencies that come from more efficient and measurable operations. The airline has also listened to its key freight forwarder customers who are members of Cargo 2000 and they have encouraged Qatar Airways to join. They are a valuable addition to our group.'
In total, Cargo 2000's membership now includes 28 of the world's top airlines.
