The world’s leading crane spreader company, Stockholm (Sweden) based Bromma, has been awarded a major new contract from Georgia Port Authority for 25 RTG yard crane spreaders, with delivery set for mid-2010. Earlier in 2009 Bromma won a new order for 4 STS45 ship-to-shore crane spreaders, for a total of 29 crane spreaders sold to GPA during 2009. Bromma’s relationship with Georgia Port Authority’s Savannah container handling center dates back many years, with over 100 Bromma crane spreaders in service or on order to the Savannah terminal, including separating ship-to-shore twin spreaders, standard yard crane twin spreaders, and single lift spreaders. Georgia Port Authority has continued to place repeat orders for many years, even as it has steadily boosted its throughput. Today Georgia Port Authority is the 4th largest container terminal in the USA. “Though the global recession has slowed the pace of equipment orders,” comments Bromma Vice-President Vikram Raman, “leading terminals continue to invest. They want equipment that will lift operational reliability and efficiency. We are delighted that Georgia Port Authority continues to partner with Bromma through this important order for 25 crane spreaders.”
