SMC3 attracts more than 500 to Atlanta for Jump Start 2017 logistics conference

Hitting a proverbial grand slam with more than 500 participants, SMC3 has once again provided ample opportunity for supply chain executives and technology providers to learn the latest about the logistics industry and, of course, to mix and mingle. Among the latter occasions was a Jan. 23 reception, concluding the first day of the 2 1/2-day Jump Start 2017 conference at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, where former Atlanta Braves standouts Ron Gant, Brian Jordan and Mark Lemke signed hundreds of autographs. The reception signing session capped an all-star day led off by a keynote address from Dayton Moore, senior vice president of operations and general manager of the Kansas City Royals. Based in the Atlanta suburb of Peachtree City, Georgia, SMC3 was founded in 1935 as the Southern Motor Carriers Rate Conference Inc. and has evolved into a leading provider of less-than-truckload freight data and optimization solutions. The next major event on the SMC3 schedule is its Connections 2017 conference, slated for June 26-28 at The Breakers Palm Beach in South Florida.
