March 5th, the Port of Everett welcomed the first oversized containers carrying parts for the new 777X. Instead of offloading at Pacific Terminal, the Port's primary container facility, the 777X parts were offloaded at Pier 1 using a mobile harbor crane rated to handle the heavier, larger aerospace containers now arriving in Everett.

In April, work to begin modernizing the Port's South Terminal facility to better accommodate this next generation of aerospace and other cargoes will commence, kicking off the largest project in the Port’s 100-year history.
