Halifax, Nova Scotia – It is another record cruise season for the Port of Halifax. In 2018, Halifax received 316,869 guests on 198 vessel calls. This is an 8% increase in the number of cruise guests over 2017, and a 14% increase in the number of vessel calls. Prior to this, 2017 had been the busiest year for cruise in Halifax for both passenger visits and vessel calls.

“We would like to acknowledge and thank all the various groups and organizations who have worked hard to build and grow the cruise industry here in Halifax and across Atlantic Canada,” said Catherine McGrail, Associate Vice President, Strategy & Innovation, Halifax Port Authority. “This includes the cruise lines, tour operators and providers, tourism agencies, cruise vendors, restaurant staff and owners, shopkeepers, gallery owners – it’s an incredibly long list, and it shows just how many people are involved in the cruise industry here in Halifax and across Atlantic Canada.”
