Grip-O-Matic Drum Handlers from Broce Manufacturing are rugged forklift attachments designed to make lifting and transporting industrial drums safer, faster and more efficient. Their fully mechanical automatic gripping system allows a forklift operator to pick up, transport and place drums without ever having to leave the driver’s seat.

The Grip-O-Matic employs a heavy-duty steel gripping jaw that automatically engages the rim of the drum. When the mast is raised the weight of the drum increases the jaw’s gripping force to provide a secure hold during transport. Operation requires no hydraulic or electrical connections. The fully mechanical design minimizes maintenance requirements while providing years of dependable operation in demanding industrial environments.

Available in single- and double-drum configurations, the Grip-O-Matic has a capacity of up to 1,000 pounds per drum. The gripping head can be vertically repositioned to accommodate drums of varying heights and sizes.

The Grip-O-Matic can be used with steel, plastic and fiber drums. It is well-suited for applications like chemical and petroleum processing, lubricants and industrial fluids, paints and coatings, food and ingredient processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, waste and recycling, general manufacturing, warehousing and distribution. Typical uses include loading and unloading drums in trucks and trailers, moving materials between storage and production areas, staging materials, and palletizing or depalletizing.

Fork or carriage mount configurations are available. Fork-mounted models can be quickly installed when needed and then removed when a forklift is needed for other uses. Carriage mounted versions provide a dedicated solution for frequent drum handling in a more compact configuration that provides improved maneuverability in confined areas.
