Anacostia Rail Holdings (ARH) has announced the appointment of K.E. (Kirk) Bedford as Vice President, New York & Atlantic Railway (NYA).

With over 26 years of railroad experience, Bedford began his railroad career with the Union Pacific Railroad. He was general manager for Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. railroads over a period of 18 years and, most recently, he was Assistant General Manager, Gary Railway, Inc. Bedford is a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army with the 1st Armored Division as a Combat Engineer in the first Gulf War.

He has led railroads in the achievement of multi-faceted safety, commercial, logistics, and financial goals and his skills include building staff capabilities by encouraging a culture of safety, inclusion, and professional development for managers.
