Bolloré Transport & Logistics inaugurated its new multimodal logistics hub, Aerohub, in Abidjan on Wednesday 4 September 2019. Attending the event were Amadou Koné, Minister of Transport of Côte d’Ivoire, Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Trade, Industry and the Promotion of SMEs and Thierry Ehrenbogen, CEO of Bolloré Logistics.

Featuring latest-generation equipment, Aerohub will receive, store and distribute via a tri-temperature platform (frozen, positive cold, ambient temperature) goods intended for the Côte d’Ivoire and sub-regional market for companies in the mass retail, telecoms, pharmaceutical and catering sectors.

Aerohub is ideally located at the Félix Houphouët Boigny airport and close to the Port of Abidjan, making it a connection point between international sea and air logistics flows as well as final consumers. Over €6 million (or F CFA 4.5 billion) have already been invested to launch the initial phase of the project, out of a total €12 million earmarked in the long term (F CFA 8 billion).

Promoting sustainable logistics in West Africa, Aerohub stands apart through the integration of innovative systems designed to shrink the carbon footprint of its business activities. It is equipped with a low energy consumption (LED) lighting system with movement detectors and a storm-water holding reservoir, together with electric handling equipment that in the long term will be powered by solar panels.

Committed to the logistics transformation of the African continent, Bolloré Transport & Logistics is determined to play a long-term role in the growth momentum of Côte d’Ivoire and contribute to the inception of the African common market. Bolloré Transport & Logistics also aims to capitalise on the success of Aerohub to maintain its leadership position in the provision of logistics services in West Africa.
