Fast-growing global container specialist, Cargostore Worldwide has announced the full integration of Reftrade UK and Environstore into a new entity, Cargostore UK, following their 2025 acquisition.

The announcement follows a full 12-month systems and business integration process aligning all three organizations and their teams following the multi-million-pound acquisition by Cargostore.

According to Greg Spence, Managing Director of Cargostore UK, integration of the businesses has already brought significant benefits in terms of a dedicated base to serve the UK offshore and renewables sector, increased Capex investments and entry into new growth markets and contracts.

“Integrating any established and successful businesses into one entity is always going to have its challenges, but what was attractive about the acquisition in the first place was the close synergy between the businesses alongside their shared customer-first ethos. This has undoubtedly underpinned and supported the integration process,” said Greg.

“On the commercial side there has been a seismic change – major improvements built on the great fit between the businesses. We have strengthened our foothold in Aberdeen and the Northeast and opened new markets. In particular, the renewables sector and most recently our first Carbon Capture Storage contract reflected in a rental revenue growth of 57% year on year since the 2025 merger.

“It’s a very exciting time with the establishment of Cargostore UK, which has the means, the capacity, appetite and desire to grow significantly across the UK.” he added.

Cargostore Worldwide CEO Andrew Hart echoed the combined benefits that the acquisition and integration have brought.

"When we completed the acquisition, the first in our 30-year history, we knew it was vital to keep the existing Reftrade management and operational teams intact. Led by Greg Spence and Martin Baxter, their people-centric client first approach significantly reduced the potential risk of integration friction. By backing their local expertise with Cargostore's global management, fleet and capital, we have already collectively taken the business to the next level in a short space of time. We’ve invested in additional ATEX rated Zone 2 refrigeration containers and strategically positioned additional CCUs from the Cargostore fleet at the depot.”

“With Aberdeen now a key mobilisation base for both CCUs and our new LiftaLoo fleet, we are able to meet the significant growing demand for our solutions and services across key markets including offshore, renewables, decommissioning, and clean energy at both scale and speed so we are delighted to be working with Greg and the team and look forward to a very bright future ahead,” said Andrew.
