CenterPoint Properties is proud to partner with the Houston Food Bank by providing much-needed warehousing space to help distribute food throughout 18 Texas counties. The nation’s largest food bank will use the 124,0000 SF facility, at 8530 Market Street, to receive shipments from the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) as part of its COVID-19 relief efforts.
The Houston Food Bank has seen the demand for food assistance skyrocket since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The charity distributed nearly 23 million pounds of food in the month of April, doubling its regular distribution.
“Our longstanding relationship with the Houston Food Bank is part of our mission to continually support the local community, and we’re proud to be able to help in their time of need,” said Danielle Radtke, Senior Vice President, Asset Management of CenterPoint.
The site’s prime East Loop location near the I-610 and I-10 interchange as well as its 34 exterior docks, one drive-in door and 21’ clear-height make it perfectly suited to meet the growing demands of the Houston Food Bank during this critical time.

This is the second time in recent years that CenterPoint has partnered with the Houston Food Bank at a time of crisis. In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, the Houston Food Bank expanded its operations to CenterPoint’s 137,000 SF site at 8786 Wallisville Road to meet the tremendous demand from area families.
