Circle S.p.A. (“Circle”), company headed by the homonymous group, specialized in the analysis and development of automation and digitalization solutions for the port sectors and intermodal logistics, listed on the AIM Italia market, organized and ma-naged by Borsa Italiana, communicates its contribution in the operative start of the Vado Gateway Container Terminal as “technical specialist” as support of the Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea (AdSP MLO) into the EU CEF Vamp Up project.

The inauguration of the new Vado Gateway Container Terminal represents an impor-tant milestone for the development of the whole port logistics in Liguria and in Italy, bringing the terminal to a complete integration with the current Reefer Terminal in Vado Ligure. Thanks to this evolution will be completed the first semi-automated harbour in Italy, able to host the most recent containerships (ULCV - Ultra Large Container Vessel) and to manage until 1,1 mln TEUs a year. Today’s start has been also supported by the European project “Vamp Up”, co-financed by the European Union within the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) program, which saw the Port Sy-stem Authority of Western Ligurian Sea and the VIO as first beneficiaries. Vamp Up is focused on the development of the Vado Ligure multimodal platform, core node of the TEN-T Rhine-Alps Corridor.
Circle has substantially contributed to the Vamp Up project, which aims to optimize the rail connections of the Last Mile of the Vado Ligure port also through the rail last mile process study, the definition of the railway Gate Automation model and the si-multaneous strategic coordination of the “E-Bridge” and “I RAIL” projects of the Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea. Circle, thanks to its experience in the fields of technological innovation, with particular attention to Rail Last Mile issue, supports the development activities of this sector in the “Ports of Genoa”.
