Genoa - Circle S.p.A. (“Circle”), a Company leading its own Group specialized in process and management consulting services, and in providing innovative technological solutions for transport and logistics sector, announced that a hand-over protocol has been signed with Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, which manages the infrastructure of the public ports of national importance in Bulgaria.

The protocol is focused on the development of a project proposal for application for funding an open call for proposals under Connecting Europe Facility (2018 CEF transport call).

The general objective of the initiative is to enable wider use of digital technologies to contribute to: (i) removing barriers to the smooth functioning of the single market; (ii) the modernization of the economy; and (iii) the greater efficiency of the transport sector.

The international pilot is intended to provide a harmonized and interoperable digital solution in the Black sea area, aiming through digitalization to improve the safety and security of port operations while increasing their efficiency and implementing information systems within the Port of Burgas and their interoperability with the information systems of the rail freight cargo transport on the Orient – East/Med and Rhine Danube Core Network Corridors.

The project will last a little more than 3 years and provides for a total cost of over EUR 7 million, with a possible funding of over EUR 3.5 million.

With this new cooperation with Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, Circle continues its growth abroad as laid out in its 2023 development plan.
