Home improvements group ADEO – the world’s third largest DIY retailer and No.1 in Europe – has chosen the port of Marseille Fos to become its new logistics base in southern Europe.

In a two-stage initiative, the French multinational will occupy a 36,000m2 warehouse at the Feuillane logistics park in Fos by the end of this year, followed by a 90,000m2 warehouse during 2022.
The implantation is expected to generate container traffic of more than 10,000 teu per year and around 200 jobs.
The buildings offer 12-metre headroom and conform to the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) with features such as solar roof panels and shaded parking areas.
Welcoming ADEO’s decision, the Marseille Fos port authority said it confirmed Fos as a competitive strategic crossroads for logistics in Europe and the Mediterranean.  The two logistics zones in Fos already host major home improvements players such as IKEA and Maisons du Monde.
